PEARL Community at Campus Compact 2025 Explores Publicly Engaged Research

We’re thrilled to announce that the Publicly Engaged Action & Research Lab (PEARL) will be presenting at Compact25 to showcase how our equity-driven, community-centered research is transforming higher education and advancing the well-being of communities. 

Why PEARL Matters 

PEARL is more than just a research lab—it’s a catalyst for change. Rooted in the belief that higher education should serve the public good, PEARL partners with institutions, communities, and organizations at the local, regional, national, and international levels to advance equity and justice through publicly engaged research and practice. Our work spans diverse initiatives, from studying the impact of service-learning and community engagement to empowering graduate students and emerging professionals of color to lead transformative research efforts. 

By centering marginalized voices and prioritizing equity in all that we do, PEARL aims to create lasting change in the communities we serve. Our research not only informs policy and practice but also strengthens relationships between higher education and the public, helping to realize our collective potential.

Our presentation, “PEARL - Publicly Engaged Action & Research Lab: A Model for Anti-racist Grad Student Advancement” will cover:
