Carlos Rodriguez Flores, MEd

Carlos Rodriguez Flores, a 2017 graduate of Seattle University, emerged as a powerhouse advocate during his tenure as student body president. Fearlessly addressing immigration issues, he shed light on the intricacies of the immigration landscape in the U.S. while proudly sharing his own journey as an Undocumented immigrant, awarding him as one of the Most Influential Seattleites of 2017. Following graduation, Carlos dedicated two impactful years to the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, channeling his passion into anti-trafficking efforts and providing crucial legal assistance to families seeking asylum in immigration prison.

In 2022, he ventured into the realm of higher education as an Intercultural Initiatives Fellow at Merrimack College, an Augustinian institution deeply rooted in social justice. In this role, Carlos fervently championed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) causes, focusing on breaking down barriers for Undocumented students striving for higher education, specifically at institutions where they are actively banned from enrollment.

Today, as a Residence Hall Director at the University of Georgia, he seamlessly blends his background and expertise to champion student affairs and advocacy, often employing his profound understanding to present intersectional and liberatory approaches to community organizing, engagement, and movement building.
